Greening city one tree at a time

Haffiz says developers are required to consult the MBIP Landscape Department to ensure the trees they plan to plant in their projects are compatible with the proposed locations.

ISKANDAR Puteri City Council (MBIP) is aiming to have half-a-million trees planted as part of long-term plans to increase green areas in its jurisdiction within the next seven years.

MBIP mayor Datuk Mohd Haffiz Ahmad said some 46,319 trees were planted in 2021 and 44,783 in 2022 and on average, about 71,428 trees would need to be planted yearly to reach the 500,000 target by 2030.
