Proud moment for over 1,500 grads


Management and Science University’s Class of 2023.

Management and Science University (MSU) held its 31st convocation with 1,532 students receiving their scrolls.

Fifteen received their PhD, 49 their Master’s degree, 581 their Bachelor’s and 887 their diploma during the two-day event.

The School of Education and Social Sciences presented the most number of graduates at 379.

The students were from 102 study programmes with the Faculty of Information Sciences and Engineering, and the Faculty of Business Management and Professional Studies presenting the most number of programmes (20).

The Master in Educational Management and Leadership programme at the Graduate School of Management presented its first graduating cohort (four graduates) as did the Master of Anatomy programme at the School of Graduate Studies (one graduate).

Also graduating were 103 international students.

The Best Student award was given across five categories to 40 graduates.

The Chancellor Gold Medal Award went to Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery graduate Dr Danielle Valerinna Charles, who gave the valedictory speech throughout three sessions.

The President Award went to Doctor of Philosophy (Management/ Business) student Ahmed Ali Jaleel, Bachelor in Cardiovascular Technology (Hons) student Muhammad Aidil Azami and Diploma in Culinary Arts student Aida Qistina Uzma Mohd Yusoff.

The Mohd Shukri Yajid Outstanding Award went to Bachelor in Psychology (Hons) student Umassree Murugesan.

Twenty-three people received academic awards and 12 received industry awards.

Present at the ceremony were MSU Chancellor Raja Muda of Kedah Tengku Sarafudin Badlishah Sultan Sallehuddin, Professor Tan Sri Dr Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid, who delivered the presidential address, and MSU vice-chancellor Professor Puan Sri Datuk Dr Junainah Abd Hamid.

Sponsoring partners at the convocation included the National Heart Institute (IJN), Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) Private Limited, Allianz Malaysia Bhd, Fire Fighter Industry Sdn Bhd, Mega Fortris (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, Jalen Sdn Bhd, Hazara Boutique, CBL Foods International Private Limited, BJC Foods (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, and Alpha Meditec.
