Bukit Raja flood due to suspension of mitigation project, says Selangor MB

FLOOD in Bandar Bukit Raja, Klang have gradually receded, leaving only a handful of families still affected, according to Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.

“A detailed report regarding the situation will be available later tonight.

“The temporary suspension of a flood mitigation project contributed to the current circumstances.

“The delay was caused by unresolved matters with the Highway Authority (LLM).

Amirudin Shari said he would promptly seek an explanation from the highway authority regarding the flood diversion system for the retention pond in the Bukit Raja area.

"We have requested the immediate activation of pumps to facilitate drainage. By noon today, the floodwaters have receded and are now under control. Currently, the only district affected is Klang," said Amirudin upon exiting the Jom Heboh Carnival 2023 on Sunday (June 4).
