Project to strengthen food security among Orang Asli communities

Orang Asli families from Pekan and Rompin districts received provisions, training in food cultivation and nutritional support packages.

Global Peace Foundation, in cooperation with the Austrian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, completed a project to strengthen food security of Orang Asli communities in remote areas in Pahang.

The programme was launched in August last year in Pekan and Rompin districts. It involved training 25 families in sustainable food cultivation, the provision of 6,000 pineapple, banana and coconut seedlings as well as the distribution of nutritional support packages to Orang Asli children over several months.
