IN ITS efforts to improve last-mile connectivity in the city, Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) is providing the public with an alternative in their everyday travel.

OoGyaa Mobility, a company that specialises in micro-mobility services, has made escooters available for use at selected locations in Petaling Jaya.

Bukit Gasing assemblyman Rajiv Rishyakaran said it was the latest initiative by MBPJ to help residents with last-mile connectivity issues in the city.

“We want to facilitate movement from LRT and MRT stations to nearby commercial and residential areas.

“It is hard for some people to get to their destinations from public transport hubs and it can be very expensive at times.

“Commuters will find it more convenient and affordable to get from one location to another with this service,” said Rajiv during the launch at Taman Jaya LRT station in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

Those who subscribe to the PJ Monthly Pass will have added flexibility in terms of using the escooter service.

OoGyaa Mobility founder Humayun Razzaq said individuals with the pass would have access to several benefits.

“With the monthly pass, people can ride the escooter for 30 minutes each day.

“We also provide 10 ‘pause minutes’, which could be very useful in case you need to stop somewhere and want to avoid using up the 30-minute slot,” said Humayun.

For this month only, the PJ Monthly Pass will be available at a discounted price of RM69 instead of the regular RM89, thanks to subsidies provided by MBPJ.
