A MASSAGE parlour and two entertainment centres operating illegally in Bandar Puteri, Puchong in Selangor were shut down during two separate raids by Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ).
The operation was led by MBSJ Enforcement Department assistant director Muhammad Iskandar Z. Azmi and 19 enforcement officers who found that the three premises were operating without valid licences.
The massage parlour operator was issued a summons under the Rule 3(4) Beauty and Wellness Centre 2013 by-law and could be fined a maximum of up to RM1,000 if convicted of the offence of engaging in immoral activities.
The massage parlour’s equipment was also seized.
The two entertainment centres were raided on the same evening for violating Section 6(1) of the Selangor Entertainment and Places of Entertainment Enactment 1995 (Amendment 2001).
The operators could face a maximum fine of up to RM25,000 if convicted.
The entertainment outlets’ equipment was also seized under Section 25 of the same enactment.
MBSJ in a press statement said that periodic monitoring would be carried out from time to time to weed out such illegal centres.
Strict action will be taken against any operation or premises for violating the rules and regulations. — By AMIRAH CHE RAMLAN
