Over 2,000 students receive their scrolls in university convocation

Management and Science University (MSU) celebrated its 30th convocation with 2,373 students from 117 study programmes receiving their scrolls.

Nineteen received their PhD, 35 their Master’s degree, 1,580 their Bachelor’s degree and 739 their diploma.

The Faculty of Business Management and Professional Studies (FBMP) presented the most number of graduates (714), and together with the Faculty of Information Sciences and Engineering (FISE), also the most number of academic programmes (26).

The Best Student Award was given across five categories to 65 graduates.

Bachelor in Finance (Hons) graduate Muhammad Harris Azman received the Chancellor Gold Medal Award.

Master of Science in Food Service Technology graduate Arivananthan Kanakasundar received the President’s Award, along with Bachelor in English Language and Literature Studies (Hons) graduate Nur Nadeeyah Ahmad Gorden and Diploma in Culinary Arts graduate Muhammad Farihin Mohd Faizal.

The Mohd Shukri Yajid Outstanding Award went to Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) graduate Dr Muhammad Syakir Abd Halek and Bachelor in Computer Science (Hons) graduate Mubarak Salem Mubarak Albukhairi.

Thirty-seven people received the Academic Awards and 22 the Industry Awards.

The MSU Honorary Doctorate in Fashion was conferred to Japanese fashion icon and Ueda College of Fashion president Dr Hitoshi Tajima, who received the award from MSU president Prof Tan Sri Dr Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid.

Conferring the degrees in the first of the four sessions held over two days was MSU Chancellor, the Regent of Kedah Tengku Sarafudin Badlishah Ibni Al-Aminul Karim Sultan Sallehuddin.

Also present was MSU vice-chancellor Prof Puan Sri Dr Junainah Abd Hamid.
