Health carnival to provide free checks tomorrow

MORE than 300 people are expected to attend the Jom Sihat Health Carnival at Lebuh Macallum Community Hall in George Town, Penang tomorrow.

Organised by the Muslim League Youth Organisation and the Penang government, there will be free health screening and dental checks as well as a blood donation drive to replenish supply at Penang Hospital.

Organisation president Jamil Kader Gani said the event was open to all.

“Although the number of Covid-19 cases has reduced, we should not neglect our general health.

“We expect some 300 people to take part in the health screening and dental checks.

“Hopefully, blood donors will also come forward to support the event,” he said during a press conference at Pengkalan Kota assemblyman Daniel Gooi’s service centre.

Gooi, who was also present, urged the public to take the opportunity provided by the free consultations as many people were not aware of their health conditions.

“Besides the health screening and dental checks, there will be health-related exhibitions,” he said.
