First inclusive playground in country welcomes all


It is a family affair at the inclusive playground when all members can enjoy the facilities together.

SIME Darby Property and United Nations Children’s Fund (Unicef) have launched the country’s first inclusive playground in the former’s City of Elmina township in conjunction with Zero Discrimination Day.

Spanning half an acre, the inclusive playground is equipped with ramps and features 37 integrated play structure components, 12 loose item elements including inclusive swings, a trampoline, climbing nets and see-saws alongside other elements that are created for children with different capabilities.With the approval and support of Shah Alam City Council (MBSA), the playground was designed in collaboration with children with and without disabilities, parents, grandparents and technical specialists, including organisations of persons with disabilities and educators.
