SIXTY-NINE tablets complete with a year’s subscription to the World Wide Web were presented to needy students from two schools in Penang by AmBank Group.

The Kuala Lumpur-based group represented by its executive vice-president Syed Anuar Syed Ali also gave out food aid to the SMK Sungai Ara and SMK Tun Syed Sheh Barakbah students from B40 families.

The initiative was part of the group’s corporate social responsibility efforts to reach out to underprivileged communities and help them.

“We hope the donations will help to ease the burden of students and parents during the Covid-19 pandemic recovery period,” said Syed Anuar in a press statement.

“The tablets will greatly help the students with their online learning when they have to stay at home.”

The handover ceremony was attended by Syed Anuar together with staff members from the headquarters and branches of AmBank from Penang.
