Club helps more needy students by donating computers to school

Lions Club of Kuala Lumpur Providence representatives and SMK Bandar Baru Sri Petaling staff with the donated computers and equipment.

LIONS Club of Kuala Lumpur Providence donated computers to SMK Bandar Baru Sri Petaling so that more students can participate in online lessons from home.

Four desktops, two laptops as well as computer equipment were presented to the school.

Organising chairperson Olivia Poh Mei Mei said, “Our plan is for the school to lend these devices to students in need.

“When the holidays or exams are over, these students can return the computers to the school which can then lend them to a new set of students so that more can benefit.”

The club had donated several sets of desktops, laptops and smartphones to individual families in the past two months but more families had asked for help.

The club then decided to change its strategy and donated the equipment to the school instead so teachers can pass them to students in need.

The club also invites donations of used computers, tablets and smartphones. For details, call 012-323 6683 or 016- 226 8330.
