THE second phase of a study on what is causing the jellyfish population to bloom in the sea around Penang has been launched.

Unlike the first phase in previous years, scientists will try to determine if the growing numbers of this dangerous pest are linked to chlorophyll spikes and planktonic life at sea or climate change.
