184,020 eligible applicants to receive free water in Selangor

A TOTAL of 184,020 account holders in Selangor are eligible to receive 20 cubic of free water under the Skim Air Darul Ehsan (SADE) programme.

In a statement, Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) corporate communications head Abdul Halem Mat Som said the scheme for eligible Selangor residents was one of the state government’s initiative to replace the free water programme.

“The implementation of the SADE programme commenced on March 1.

“Until the closing date of the scheme application on Dec 31 last year, the state government received 211,344 applications, ” he said.

He added that each application underwent several cross-checks, including verifying income information through data obtained from the Inland Revenue Board (IRB), E-Kasih and Bantuan Sara Hidup (BSH), as well as data and information from Air Selangor on the authenticity of the premises address and users’ account numbers.

Out of the 211,344 applications received, only 184,020 individual meter account holders were eligible for the scheme, he said.

SADE is a free water reapportion programme for target groups in the state for households with a monthly income of RM4,000 and below.

The SADE application was previously open to residents in Selangor from Sept 30 to Dec 31,2019.

Following the implementation of SADE, the free water programme to 1.6 million Air Selangor account holders, introduced in 2008, subsequently ended.

For bulk meter users in low-cost apartments, they will continue to enjoy 20 cubic meter free water under the SADE automatically.

Successful and unsuccessful applicants will be notified in stages through email or SMS.

Applicants who registered online can view the result of their SADE application on the SSIPR Portal using their MyKad number and Air Selangor account number.

Applicants who registered using physical forms can view the status of their application through “Carian” at the state government’s IPR Portal via https://ssipr.selangor.gov.my/semakan

The SADE application is reopened online to eligible individuals at www.ssipr.selangor.gov.my, and application form can be downloaded via www.airselangor.com

During the movement control order (MCO) period, Air Selangor recommends that the complete application form be emailed to iprair@airselangor.com as the 10 Air Selangor regional offices are still closed.
