AT the heart of Gamuda Land’s town-making principles is the belief that sustainable integrated townships should be planned and built with the community and environment in mind.
As such, Gamuda Land has always been committed to creating places where people would call home, want to be part of, grow up and grow old in, and Jade Hills is no exception.
The premium township in Kajang is a prime example of Gamuda Land’s commitment towards creating a town where the community enjoys a long-term sustainable value with a lasting good quality of life and good capital growth.
Twelve years since its conceptualisation, Jade Hills has flourished into a premium self-sustained, low density township amid lush greenery offering its community resort style living in the city.
“We know that getting the places within our towns right makes our towns work and this translates into the mindful planning that has been put into bringing together key components to give the township a unique personality, ” said Jade Hills general manager Wee Pang Siang.
“This development principle applies to how we promote cosy community living through great placemaking in terms of creating gathering places, laying out parks and lakes crafting beautiful streetscapes.
“When everything is in place and people move in, they will experience a real difference and want to be a part of it, ” said Wee, adding that the movement control order (MCO) had made people more appreciative of open public spaces surrounding their home like lush parks, with lakes and waterways.
Today, Jade Hills has realised its vision of a premier township surrounded by a well-maintained green environment with high quality premium products, good community facilities as well as a good location that is easily accessible from six highways.
Upgrades and enhancementsConsistent reevaluation and updating of the township masterplan is important to ensure the community enjoys a long-term enhanced quality of life and that is what Gamuda Land is doing to continue creating value for the township’s community.
Keeping to Gamuda Land’s placemaking initiative, Jade Hills has been undergoing a rejuvenation process to upgrade its facilities and amenities since last year.
Both residents and visitors can look forward to a better entrance statement upon entering the township, with a modernised guardhouse fitted with RFID technology to ease residents’ access while the energy-saving overhead lighting improves their drive-in experience.
In terms of community spaces, residents can have the privilege of the new resident-only central park, set to be the main community gathering place in the heart of the township.
Leisure features on the 3ha park include a tree house, reflexology path, children’s playground, observation deck, forest pavilion, outdoor fitness space and par course station, among others.
Another new addition and dubbed the first in Malaysia is the Origami Park to cater to the larger Kajang community.
The 1.2ha pet-friendly park will be an ideal spot for the community to connect and bond while admiring the vibrant colours adorning the space inspired by Japanese paper-folding art.
One can also look forward to being greeted by an 8m-tall origami crane figurine at the park, which is definitely an Instagrammable spot while foodies will be glad to know that there is a designated food truck space for social gatherings or events.
Located opposite the Origami Park is the first Starbucks drive-through concept store in Kajang. Since its opening in February, it has become a hot spot for parents while they wait to pick up their children from Eaton School.
Right across Starbucks is Jade Square, two- and three-storey retail spaces, which will be a popular hangout spot for Jade Hill’s residents and the surrounding community.“There are a total of 66 units of shophouses spread over 10 blocks, with 567 parking bays.
“Fully taken up, Jade Square comprises a good mix of tenants curated for multigenerational living such as tuition centres, a preschool, various eateries, bars, grocer and pharmacy, ” said Wee, adding that Gamuda Land was taking up eight units for tenant management.
Wee emphasised that these upgrades were timely in conjunction with the opening of Jade Square as well as to cater to the surrounding community’s needs as the population grows.
“The enhancements are done following a careful study and observation of the growing demand for new placemaking initiatives to strengthen community bonds.
“These efforts will also offer a new look to the township, with a refreshed brand image and logo.”
Apart from placemaking, connectivity is equally important for a town to work.
“Just like all of Gamuda Land’s township, conscious efforts have been put into designing Jade Hills not only to reflect its natural surroundings but also to ease connectivity between key components in terms of how we create spaces to encourage people to come out and explore, ” added Wee.
As a premium development, Jade Hills is certainly proud of its bungalows and semi-detached houses.
Recently launched is Celestial Mansions which comprises 28 units of two- and three-storey bungalows across a plot of 3.4ha land.
With built-up areas ranging from 4,522sq ft to 5,259sq ft, these luxurious homes sit at the highest vantage point of central park overlooking the main Central Park.
Expected to be completed in 2022, all unit types come with five bedrooms and five bathrooms.
Meanwhile, Blossom Springs is scheduled to launch at the end of the year, comprising extra-wide superlink homes with limited “superhero” units designed to have a double frontage with a multi-facade overlooking the lake.
These homes will also have the advantage of direct access to the main Central Park to offer convenience to residents.
The nature inspired-Rymba Gardens comprises two- and three-storey link villas and semi-detached homes which are perfect for those who prefer modern yet minimalist design.
With designs inspired by the terrain of the land cascading down the lake, this exclusive low-density development sits on one of Jade HIll’s largest pocket parks with a 4ha lake and more than one hectare of lush greenery.
The semi-detached units are fully taken up while the link villas are still available. Rymba Gardens is expected to be completed in 2021.
As with other developments within Jade Hills, residents can be rest assured knowing that their homes are gated and guarded within a perimeter fencing with 24-hour security patrolling and CCTV surveillance while homes are equipped with a panic button linked to the control room.
