ASIAWATER 2020, originally scheduled from March 31 to April 2 at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, has been moved from Nov 30 to Dec 2.
Organiser Informa Markets said the decision was taken in light of the Covid-19 outbreak which has caused global travel restrictions and disruption.
Asiawater is a water and wastewater management industry biennial event which attracted over 1,000 Malaysian and foreign exhibitors and more than 18,000 visitors from 38 countries at the last edition in 2018.
“With the new dates, we will offer all our exhibitors and visitors the opportunity to continue to develop water infrastructure in Asia, ” said Asean Water Series adviser Datuk Teo Yen Hua.
Malaysian Water Association (MWA) president Datuk Abdul Kadir Mohd Din said: “We understand the decision to reschedule the event. MWA continues to support Asiawater and will participate in the new dates to underwrite the importance for Asean to preserve water resources, lower cost, promote conservation and minimise losses due to non-revenue water.”
