ADULTS and children shouted “Ponggalo Ponggal” as the milk in claypots overflowed during the Thai Ponggal celebration at Sri Muniswarar Temple in Jalan Baru, Prai, Penang.

Later, rice, brown sugar, raisins and cashew nuts were added to the milk.
