JOHOR BARU: Dengue cases in the state are on a rise and the Johor government is hoping to rope in at least 10,000 volunteers statewide to check the spread of the disease.

State health, culture and heritage committee chairman Mohd Khuzzan Abu Bakar said dengue cases had doubled from 4,201 last year to 8,558 cases as of Sept 29 this year.
