GOMBAK’s Drainage and Irrigation Department (DID) will raise the existing Sungai Pajam river wall by one metre for a 110m stretch parallel to Jalan TP9 in Taman Tun Perak in Rawang as part of a flood mitigation plan.
Rawang assemblyman Chua Wei Kiat said other than having the 1m wall constructed on top of the current U-shape culvert to mitigate high river levels during heavy rain, engineers will instal a flap gate at a drain outlet to ensure there is no back flow into the housing area.
