Ronaldo appointed online shopping platform’s envoy

EXPECT to see Cristiano Ronaldo in a series of initiatives by Shopee as the Portuguese football star is now the online shopping platform’s brand ambassador.

The footballer will be working with Shopee across its seven markets, starting with Shopee’s signature annual shopping event, 9.9 Super Shopping Day, and will also be featured in the campaign’s television advertisement.

Additionally, fans of Ronaldo can grab the golden opportunity to get up close and personal with the star through a range of exclusive content available only on Shopee Live. Fans need to stay tuned on Shopee’s app and social media platforms for updates.

The 9.9 Super Shopping Day is another reason for shoppers to rejoice.

From tomorrow until Sept 9, shoppers can enjoy three weeks of crazy promotions and entertainment as well as exclusive privileges with leading industry players.

The campaign offers greater deals and discounts across categories from brands such as Nutox, HP, L’Oreal, Vinda, Photobook Malaysia, Enfagrow, Universal Traveller, realme, MR.DIY and Nestle.

Shoppers should look out for the Shocking Sale happening nine times daily with deals as low as RM1 while the One or Not game is offering one brand new Honda City for RM1, among other attractive deals.

To further promote the adoption of e-commerce and encourage Malaysians to take advantage of these savings, Shopee is bringing down the minimum spend for free shipping to RM9, from the usual RM40.

These great savings are made possible thanks to Shopee’s ongoing efforts with the government in working alongside Malaysian retailers by lowering the barrier of entry to the digital economy whereby the cost of operating business online is much lower.

“With that, Shopee encourages retailers to share their cost savings with shoppers and in turn, consumers can save an average of 20% on daily necessities on a regular day and up to 90% during major shopping events like 9.9 Super Shopping Day, ” added Ho.

“Shopee’s mission has always been to impact local communities in a meaningful and sustainable level through initiatives such as our sales campaigns that will allow Malaysians to continue shopping and stocking up on necessities without breaking the bank, ” said Ho.

Also present at the 9.9 Super Shopping Day launch at Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur was Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (Mdec) e-commerce director Song Hock Koon.

“One of Mdec’s objectives is to encourage Malaysians to become immersed in the digital ecosystem, as such initiatives will help accelerate adoption in a sustainable and cost-effective manner.

“We are always pleased to collaborate and support industry moves and trust that this latest initiative will further inspire digital entrepreneurship efforts, ” he said.
