S'gor MB to Azmin: Ignore 'wild allegations', continue your work

SELANGOR Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari has urged Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali to continue carrying out his duties as Economic Affairs Minister.

"Following the call by Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, I feel that Azmin should continue his job and not be distracted by these wild allegations by somebody who's not credible.

"All the issues that are being raised are just to distract the minister and the current government's work in creating and building a Malaysia Baru," he said.

Amirudin made the statement after being asked to comment on Otai Reformasi's suggestion that Azmin take a break until as the police investigate the sex video allegedly implicating him and Santubong PKR youth chief Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz.

Asked about the status of Haziq's PKR membership, Amirudin said that would be decided by the party's central leadership and disciplinary board.

"There is a certain process that needs to be observed when dealing with such matters, so it will be up to the leaders at PKR headquarters to decide," he said.

Amirudin was in Shah Alam to witness the grand opening of Central i-City shopping centre on Saturday (June 15) afternoon.
