Towering fun for all in the family

SHOPPERS will find plenty to marvel during the three-day Komtar Carnival 2019 from May 3 to 5.

It will feature various activities, showcases and workshops at different locations throughout Levels 1 to 5 at Komtar, The Top and ICT Digital Mall in Komtar.

Komtar assemblyman Teh Lai Heng said the carnival would be the biggest that the constituency has ever organised in Komtar.

“It is an opportunity for us to prove that Komtar still has the competitiveness as a shopping mall, and to attract more shoppers to visit and have fun with their family.

“There will also be activities at Komtar Level 4, where the public seldom visit these days.

“We hope this carnival will be the largest programme we have ever had at our iconic state landmark — Komtar,” he said during a press conference at Komtar recently.

Teh said other activities such as the Handphone Fiesta, Technology and Communication Fiesta, Book Fiesta and Food Fiesta would also be held at the carnival.

“There will be an eSports competition, offering cash prizes up to RM100,000, for the CS:GO game and registrations will be open to players throughout the nation,” he said, adding that interested participants can register at http://www.thepantheon.co/tecs/

The carnival is jointly organised by Malaysia Mobile and Communication Association, Penang ICT Association, Phidisk Sdn Bhd, Mirai Corporation, Popular Book Co (M) Sdn Bhd and ICT Digital Mall in Komtar with the support of Penang Island City Council, Asia Comics, Penang House of Music and Tech Dome Penang.

Teh said the organisers were still looking for vendors to fill available booths for the carnival.
