VISITORS to the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) Fair March 2019 will have a chance to experience exciting augmented reality (AR) features.
Top Media Resources Sdn Bhd is back for the second year as MATTA Fair’s Official AR guide.
Visitors will be able to view fantasy characters, safari animals and other computer-generated images (CGI) via the eMATTA mobile app and interactive LED panel at the fair.
The eMATTA mobile app will be ready to be downloaded by visitors from March 15, and is available for both iOS and Android devices.
MATTA chief executive officer Phua Tai Neng said they would also distribute 50,000 free copies of the eMATTA guidebook with AR features which could be scanned using the eMATTA mobile app, to visitors at the fair.
“With the help of technology, the landscape is changing,” he told a press conference held at Wisma MATTA, Jalan Metro Pudu 2.
Top Media managing director Amelia Au said they had created 10 characters for the eMATTA guidebook.
“The eMATTA guidebook is packed with AR features on every page, making print advertising lively and engaging,” she said.
In addition, CGI would repeatedly be featured for over 30 minutes on the 8m x 4m high definition interactive LED panel situated next to the main ticketing counter during the three-day fair from March 15 at Putra World Trade Centre, (PWTC), Kuala Lumpur.
She shared that they spent RM2mil to develop AR, and would be the first to introduce CGI combined with AR at such a scale for a travel publication.
To encourage visitors to download the eMATTA mobile app while waiting in line for their entrance tickets, Top Media is providing a free WiFi hotspot.
Top Media is also partnering with Turkish Airlines in giving out two economy class tickets to Europe.
“All you have to do is download the eMATTA mobile app, show it to our promoter, and be eligible for one lucky draw entry.
“Winners will be able to redeem the prize on the spot,” she added.
Staff will assist visitors to take an AR photo that can be sent to WhatsApp or email during the AR sessions at the LED panel.
There will be two AR games visitors can play and the top 30 scorers will win attractive prizes sponsored by Tourism Selangor and Eva Air.
