MELAKA: Mahkota Medical Centre (MMC) here unveiled its new logo with a new vision to reinforce the growth of the 24-year-old establishment.
MMC chief executive officer Stanley Lam said with the refreshed look, MMC and its sister hospital Regency Specialist Hospital in Johor will now share the same logo.
He said the merging of the two brands symbolised a stronger network with a shared vision to better serve patients in Malaysia and the region.
“Our new vision is to become the most reputable referral hospital not only in Melaka but also in South-East Asia,” he said in his speech before unveiling the new logo at MMC in Banda Hilir here.
Also present were state health director Datuk Dr Ghazali Othman and his deputy Dr Amirullah Mohd Arshad.
Dr Ghazali congratulated MMC for succesfully placing Melaka on the medical tourism map.
He said the hospital has paved the way and opened doors of opportunity to attract patients from other South-East Asian countries.
“Through this, we are positive about seeing a boost in medical tourism in Melaka and for it to surge to greater heights, “ he added.
Lam said MMC currently saw about 100,000 foreign patients per year and continues to actively promote medical tourism.
He said the medical centre had treated more than 4.5 million patients since it started operations in 1994.
“Each year we see more than 300,000 patients and perform more than 14,000 surgeries, “ he said.
He added that MMC was accorded the 2018 Malaysia Medical Tourism Hospital Customer Value Leadership Award by Frost & Sullivan Malaysia recently.
