Hospital celebrates 100th success of its fertility centre

SUNWAY Medical Centre celebrated its 100th baby and counting in a ceremony for the parents and babies.

Held at SunMed Convention Centre, Bandar Sunway, parents and their babies were treated to a meal at the centre and a cake-cutting ceremony.

Allied Health Services director Sherry Woo from Allied Health Division said the event was yet another milestone in the history of Sunway Medical Centre’s Fertility Centre.

“The centre was initiated at the end of 2014 with fertility consultant Dr Kannappan Palaniappan that began with only two nursing staff and embryologists each.

“The number of pregnancy cases has increased since 2015 and our centre takes pride in the services we offer.

“Our treatments, combined with the latest technology, increases the overall chances for couples to conceive,” she said.

Guests were later entertained by clown performances.

Kannappan said the centre was awarded “Best Fertility Centre” as voted by thousands of parents and readers of Parenthood Magazine Malaysia for the Parents’ Choice Awards 2018.

The celebration concluded with a group photo of the centre’s staff, parents and their babies.
