Spreading love at feast of prosperity

Organisers and guests at the Feast of Prosperity event at Eco Grandeur township in Puncak Alam, Shah Alam.

ECO World Development Group Bhd (EcoWorld Malaysia) hosted a festive eight-course banquet to mark the end of its month-long “Bridging Hearts with Love” Chinese New Year campaign.

Called the Feast of Prosperity, the event was held at the Eco Grandeur township in Puncak Alam, Shah Alam and featured a sumptuous spread of authentic festive dishes.

Guests were also treated to a line-up of energetic stage performances by several local artistes.

The event began with an acrobatic lion dance show by the UM Lion Dance Troupe, along with a graceful dance by the Han Fong Dance Ensemble.

This was followed by a lively 24 Seasons Drum show and a performance by EcoWorld Malaysia’s very own EcoWorld Symphony Drummers.

Beautiful tunes were heard throughout the night also thanks to the Colours of Voices A capella Group, Malaysia Century Chinese Orchestra, Freddie and Catz as well local singer Lim Wen Suen who was winner of the inaugural The Voice Singapore and Malaysia reality show.

Table gifts worth up to RM500, inclusive of vouchers worth RM220 courtesy of Kansai Paint, awaited guests.

The Bridging Hearts with Love campaign was jointly organised jointly by EcoWorld Malaysia and Sin Chew Media Corporation Bhd from Feb 1 to March 2, and featured exciting activities in celebration of the lunar new year.

The highlight of the campaign was the heartwarming three-part Chinese New Year video, co-produced and starred by talents from both organisations, which carries a strong message on family love .

The campaign also reached Eco Spring in Iskandar Malaysia, Johor and Eco Horizon, Penang on Feb 24 and March 2, respectively, where traditional food stalls were set up alongside lion and dragon dance performances and other cultural activities such as workshops on paper cutting, Chinese calligraphy and origami.

The festivities were even more meaningful when the celebration was extended to the needy.

As part of their corporate social responsibility, both groups hosted special needs children from Persatuan Kebajikan Orang Kurang Upaya Xi Le Er Malaysia and Kiwanis Down Syndrome Foundation in Iskandar Malaysia; orphans from St Joseph’s Home in Penang as well as senior citizens from Rumah Victory Elderly Home in Puchong, Selangor.

An online photography contest was also organised as part of the campaign, in which participants need to upload a photograph on either Facebook or Instagram that depicts the theme “Bridging Hearts with Love” along with a meaningful caption containing the hashtags #EcoWorld #SinChewDaily and #bridgingheartswithlove.

The first prize was a 10-day trip to Turkey for two worth RM10,000, courtesy of Malaysian Harmony Tour and Travel.

The second prize was a Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and Samsung Powerbank worth RM4,000, courtesy of KTS Cellular while the third prize was a Eu Yan Sang CNY hamper worth RM1,399.
