JOHOR BARU: Kata-Kata 2100 Exhibition is showcasing how languages are influencing human behaviours and habits.
The exhibition at Big Bites Café in Jalan Tan Hiok Nee is part of the Johor Baru Writers and Film Festival, which ends on Oct 28.
“The exhibition focuses on rediscovering Malaysia’s linguistic roots and how foreign influences and elements are absorbed in our society,” said project designer Sarah Ahmad.
The exhibition showcases words from 12 languages among others Arabic, Bahasa Melayu, Mandarin, Portuguese, Sanskrit and Tamil.
Johor Baru International Festival City director Suzie Yap said there were several activities and programmes lined up for art lovers in this year’s festival.
