A SENSE of helplessness came over Bukit Kiara longhouse resident Vengidensalam Raju, 68, when asked about his almost fourdecade wait for the new house promised to him.

Vengidensalam had to raise his four children in a small square longhouse unit that was partitioned into rooms using his own money.
