I revisited Broga Hill and was pleasantly surprised by the more people-friendly route to the summit. There are also many more rope-assisted sections, compared to my previous trip in 2014. The hill with lalang appears to have recovered from the ravages of a forest fire in February 2015. While some hike up the hill simply for a good workout, others do it as training for a more challenging feat.
The first 15 minutes of trail climbs through a forested area at a moderate gradient. Though it was just 8.30am, we met a lot of returning hikers who had started out as early as 5am. Despite this, we were able to maintain our pace as the main trail splits into smaller paths that eventually lead to the foot of a steep hill.
