IN 1983, three medium-sized local construction companies agreed to merge to be a stronger player against foreign rivals in the construction industry. Hence, IJM was formed from the strategic alliance of IGB Construction Sdn Bhd, Jurutama Sdn Bhd and Mudajaya Sdn Bhd.
The formation proved to be fruitful as the new company established itself as a solid, professionally operated construction outfit and quickly gained significant market acceptance.
