Soon-to-be-bride wins car at #AnakAnakMalaysia Walk 2017 lucky draw

Grand-prize winner of the AnakAnakMalaysia Walk 2017 lucky draw Intan Syahizatty with her Proton Iriz 1.6L Premium CVT.

INTAN Syahizatty Abdul Hamid walked away the proud owner of a Proton Iriz 1.6L Premium CVT, the grand prize at the #AnakAnakMalaysia Walk 2017 lucky draw.

It was a pre-wedding gift for the 24-year-old MyEG service operation officer who will be getting married next April.

“I was thinking that I wouldn’t have the luck to win after several names were drawn with no takers. I was about to leave when I heard my name.

“It was my first time taking part in such an event and the first time winning the top prize in a lucky draw,” she said, adding that she enjoyed the atmosphere at the walk.

Second-prize winner Nur Shahira Abd Kadir was all smiles as she went on stage to receive her Gintell De’Vano S Funtastic Sofa.

Barely masking her joy at winning, the 24-year-old Employees Provident Fund (EPF) employee said she could not believe her good fortune and had not expected the win.

Nur Shahira said she was eager to join the walk simply because she believed in building relationships for a better Malaysia.

“It was all about being together with other Malaysians and sharing our love for the country.

“Even the rain did not stop me from coming but winning the prize was definitely a bonus, especially since I have never won a lucky draw prize before,” she added.

Third-prize winner Lee Kok Fong, 75, took home a Goodnite Exec Series Kingsize Achievement Mattress Bed Set.

“I could not hear very well, it was my daughter who told me she heard my name being called on stage.

“I also took part in last year’s walk, it’s a fun family event,” she said.

She came with 15 family members, including her grandchildren, the youngest only six years old.

The fourth prize — a Panasonic 4k Smart LED TV — went to Mohd Fahmy Kalanoh, 39, also from EPF, who said that winning the television was a sweet ending to the walk.

Fahmy said he was shocked and grateful to walk away with the television especially since his television set just broke down.

“I wanted to do something this Merdeka and so I joined the walk but winning this television was definitely the icing on the cake,” he added.

The morning rain did not deter him from participating, he said, adding that he had bought raincoats just in case.

Maznan Mohd Zain, 52, won the fifth prize, a Panasonic Premium Inverter Series Air Conditioner.

Having vision problems did not deter him from taking part in the walk.

“I have poor vision, I am categorised as disabled but being outdoors is not a problem for me.

“I was surprised when I heard my name. Now, with this new air conditioner, my house will be cooler,” he said.

The top five prizes were among the 226 prizes up for grabs in the lucky draw.

The #AnakAnakMalaysia Walk is organised by Star Media Group Bhd in collaboration with Eco World Development Group Bhd.

Other lucky draw prizes included Panasonic Micro System, Panasonic 15L cubic Oven, Panasonic Top Load Washer 7kg, PNB Perdana Hotel and Suites on the Park hotel stays, Spin Pro B1.3 Exercise Bike from Healthy World Lifestyle, OTO e-Physio Plus EY-900P, Soleus GPS Sole running watch and Kay Kay All Plant Sports Protein Powder by Inno Asia Distribution Sdn Bhd.
