Playing a vital role in shaping Bandar Country Homes

SINCE the township of Bandar Country Homes in Rawang was established in 1992, its residents had asked the authorities for amenities such as post office, banks, a police station and simple public facilities including streetlights, widening of roads and cleanliness of the area.

The township now has a bank with Pos Malaysia located at a mall in Anggun, next to Bandar Country Homes (BCH), while a police station is being constructed in Jalan Desa Jaya there.

Bandar Country Homes Residents Association (BCHRA) president Soong Beng Khoon said a dual carriageway at Jalan Sungai Bakau-Batang Berjuntai from the Rawang toll to Bandar Tasik Puteri that passes through BCH is currently taking shape.

Currently, BCHRA acts as a facilitator to organise blood donation drives, hold dialogues with property developers or resolve common issues in its surrounding townships as many are new and have not formed their own RAs.

Phases 2, 3, 6 and 12 have formed their own RAs that are looking into security issues within their area employing security guards and having CCTVs.

Soong said BCHRA’s ultimate aim was to see the completion of the police station, the dual carriageway and wanting a government clinic to be located in BCH.

“We want our children to have a healthy place to live in while taking ownership of this area as our committee members also plan to live here with our children.

“Our attempt has been successful as many children have already called BCH their own kampung or village and being a healthy place to live.

“We also want police presence here to be felt to reduce the crime rate in the area with the new police station that is taking shape,’’ he said.
