Dept rounds up the homeless during ops

ISKANDAR PUTERI: Some 82 individuals, including 11 foreigners, were detained during 57 operations conducted by the state Welfare Department in efforts to monitor the homeless and vagrants in the city centre here.

Johor Women and Family Affairs committee chairman Asiah Md Ariff said that a total of 33 homeless had been saved during the operations. They include six children, seven disabled individuals ad 14 senior citizens.
