Southern Cable gets more jobs from TNB

PETALING JAYA: Cable and wire manufacturer Southern Cable Group Bhd has secured an additional RM121.1mil worth of orders for its existing contract from Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) for the supply of underground power cables and conductors.

In a statement, the company said the addition followed TNB’s decision to increase its orders within the existing contract awarded to the company in February 2025.

“The increase raises the total contract value with TNB to RM524.6mil, up from the original RM403.6mil.

“The contract is being fulfilled by the group’s subsidiary, Southern Cable Sdn Bhd, for TNB’s distribution network division,” it said.

Following the award, the group’s total orders in hand stood at RM1.16bil, providing earnings visibility until 2027, at the same time, reflecting sustained demand for critical power infrastructure.
