MALACCA: Flood mitigation weaknesses upstream of the Malacca River and the current uncertain weather are among factors contributing to floods in the state, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Idris Haron.
As such, he said the government would focus on improving flood mitigation works upstream of the river, so that the area could better accommodate the largest amount of water possible to prevent flooding in future.
