Council gets tough with illegal hotel operators

In a joint operation yesterday, the Penang Island City Council (MBPP) raided an illegal hotel in Penang Street.

During the one-hour sting, the hotel’s signboard was dismantled, electricity supply disconnected and some of the rooms’ wooden partitions were also demolished.
