DCP Chuah said this after launching the balik kampung safety campaign at the Sg Rambai Rest and Recreational here.
On a related matter, he said the number of fatal accidents reported during Ops Selamat 7 as of July 14 showed a drop of 29 cases from the corresponding period last year, which had a total of 239 cases.
“But five motorists were killed in road accidents during the first four days of Ops Selamat 7,” he said.
DCP Chuah also advised those leaving their house to balik kampung for the festive holidays to inform the police.
He said police would be patrolling housing estates round-the-clock during the occupants’ absence.
