KUCHING: Sabah will embark on the breeding of the highly-prized ikan empurau in its many rivers under the tagal system once a proposed central empurau hatchery project is implemented.

A project paper on the proposed hatchery, which would require situable land of between 10ha and 12ha and funding of some RM70mil, was submitted to Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk Dr Ewon Ebin by LTT Aquaculture Sdn Bhd during his second visit to the company’s farm in Asajaya near here on Saturday.
