SUNWAY Carnival Mall in Seberang Prai has come forward to help the flood victims in the east coast states.

Items like canned food, biscuits, mineral water, milk powder, rice, diapers, soap and clothing were collected through the 'Share For Care Flood Aid' programme.

The initiative was held at the mall's upper ground concourse from Jan 1 to Jan 11.

The mall’s general manager Chow Heng Wah said the aid was donated by shoppers, tenants and their staff members.

“We thank them all for the support.

“We hope we can alleviate the suffering of the flood victims," he said.

He was speaking after handing over the items to the Malaysian Red Crescent Society (MRCS) North Seberang Prai chapter recently.

MRCS deputy chairman Nick Foo Toon Yong, who was present to receive the aid, thanked the mall for coming up with the initiative to help the needy.

“The aid will be sent to our headquarters in Kuala Lumpur.

“Then, it will be delivered to the victims in Kelantan, Terengganu, Perak and Pahang,” he said.
