Preparing youths for their next phase in life

EMPOWERING the younger generation is the key to a holistic education experience.

Driven by this belief, Hap Seng Consolidated Bhd, along with social enterprise Ascendance, organised the first New Age Learner Workshop.

The workshop was designed to allow students from various educational and social backgrounds to take part in knowledge-sharing sessions and experience hands-on coaching to develop their interpersonal skills.

Held at Menara Hap Seng, the programme was led and facilitated by youths aged eight to 19.

Hap Seng Consolidated Bhd supported the workshop by providing resources and lending its expertise.

Its CSR director, Puan Sri Maimon Arif Patail, said it was great to see the younger generation taking ownership of their lives as it taught them the importance of sustainability and confidence.

“Hap Seng CSR teams strive towards capacity building and sustainability, our projects focus on developing young minds in high order thinking skills for their future endeavours.

“We are delighted to work with them as they showcase pure resilience and capacity building values that we find mostly intriguing.

“Our project aims to develop and cultivate career readiness and excellent communication command among the rural communities and we believe this collaboration will be a great example, ” she added.

The workshop featured high achievers from various schools around Kuala Lumpur conducting peer-to-peer coaching sessions to nurture the communication and leadership skills of the Gen Z participants.

The conference was attended by 140 students from all over Malaysia.

“The workshop showcases the capability and leadership Gen Z youths possess when they set their minds to achieve their goals, ” said Ascendance chief operating officer Mathura Kannan.
