See the peach (not cherry) blossoms in China's Taohuayuan

Every spring, many tourists flock to the Taohuayuan Scenic Area in Youyang in China’s Chongqing, to see the beautiful peach blossoms.

Next month, Malaysian travellers will get the chance to do the same, in a special peach blossom exploration tour. This tour may be especially interesting for photography enthusiasts as it is held alongside a photography event.

Organised jointly by tourism groups and photography associations from both Malaysia and China – including the Malaysia Photographic Association, PhotoJam, the Selangor & Kuala Lumpur Photography Society, the Chongqing Photographers Association, Visual Chongqing, and the Chongqing Daily Photography Department – the event aims to promote cultural exchange via tourism and photography.

Both travellers and photography enthusiasts will be able to explore the expansive fields of peach blossoms and other scenic places like the Stacked Stone Flower Valley, Changpugai Grand Grassland and Gongton Ancient Town.

This trip also offers travellers the opportunity to experience the traditional cultures of Tujia and Miao ethnic groups, where they can capture images of the groups’ unique customs. The whole programme will be hosted and guided by folks from the CPC Youyang Tujia, Miao Autonomous County Committee, Youyang Tujia and Miao Autonomous County Culture and Tourism Development Commission, and the Youyang Tujia and Miao Autonomous County Youth League Committee.

The tour promises beautiful sights and a rich cultural experience.

The trip will be from April 7 to 14, but registration closes early (March 25).
