11 Instagram-worthy spots in Selangor you can check out

Tourism Selangor has come up with a list of 11 spots to take pictures for your “#RAYAOOTD” (Raya outfit of the day) Instagram collection.

Of course, you can also take pictures at these spots on other days, as the views are quite stunning.

1. Kuala Selangor art route

This art route is located in Pekan Lama (Old Town), Kuala Selangor and features various beautiful murals.

2. Dragonfly Park

The Dragonfly Park is located at Eco Grandeur Puncak Alam, a residential area in the Kuala Selangor district. The park gets its name from the lake that’s shaped like a dragonfly.

3. Elmina Central Park

This is one of the most popular parks in Shah Alam, and you can find plenty of pictures of it on social media pages. Elmina is a new township in the area and has a few picture-perfect spots such as the colourful rainbow path and the Elmina bridge.

4. Selangor-Japan Friendship Garden

The Selangor-Japan Friendship Park in Shah Alam was built to commemorate the good social and economic relationship between the state and Japan over the years. The public lakeside park is open to visitors from 10am-7pm every day and features a Zen garden, a maze pool and the Tsukubai Torii Gate.

5. Safari murals

In the “old town” part of the Royal Town of Klang, you can find interesting safari-themed murals in the back alleys.

6. Lover’s Bridge

The Lover’s Bridge at Tanjung Sepat in the Kuala Langat district is one of the most recognisable places in the area. Located in a fishing village, the bridge is a popular place for folks who want to enjoy the sunset.

7. Tamarind Square

Tamarind Square is one of the latest trendy spots in the Klang Valley, with plenty of eateries and cool spaces. Located in Cyberjaya, the place has a beautiful landscape and surrounded by greenery.

8. Bandar Palace

Located in Jugra Town, Kuala Langat, Bandar Palace is chock-full of history. The double-storey building has many rooms, including a royal bath and a throne room. The Alaeddin Mosque is nearby, and also has some interesting architecture.

9. D’Network Setia Eco Park

Located in Shah Alam, this park is where you can find the world’s first musical water fountain that uses solar energy. During the fountain show, the whole place will be lit up with colourful lights.

10. Gamuda Gardens Park

There are five lakes in the Gamuda Gardens Park, Rawang so there are plenty of good spots where you can take your pictures. There is also an artificial waterfall here.

11. Setia Ecohill Park

Setia Ecohill Park in Semenyih is located on a hill and surrounded by the jungle. There are lots of greenery here, and a few ponds and lakes too, which make for perfect backdrops for your pictures. – Melody L. Goh
