The Odyssey (premiering in Malaysia today) has assembled one of Hollywood’s most formidable casts for a retelling of the ancient Greek epic, with its star-studded ensemble turning every premiere and photocall into a showcase of red carpet fashion.
When style heavyweights such as Zendaya, Anne Hathaway and Lupita Nyong’o step onto the carpet, it is hardly surprising that the press tour feels more like a runway than a film promotion.
Across every stop, the wardrobe has matched the scale of the story itself, with looks that are as theatrical and mythic as the source material.
Zendaya, who plays the goddess Athena, has been leaning into the film’s classical themes.
At the Paris photocall, she wore a white Givenchy Spring/Summer 1997 haute couture gown designed by the late Alexander McQueen during his tenure at the house.
The collection, titled The Search For The Golden Fleece, drew inspiration from the Greek myth of Jason and the Argonauts, making it a fitting archival choice.

Hathaway, meanwhile, has embraced maternity dressing with understated elegance.
At the London premiere, she wore a blue Dior gown featuring an empire waist that beautifully framed her baby bump.
She later told People that she had discovered the dress months earlier and deliberately saved it for pregnancy because she knew it was “going to work” as her belly grew.
Its softly draped silhouette also subtly referenced the fluid, untailored garments associated with ancient Greece.
Nyong’o echoed that same Grecian sensibility in flowing, loose silhouettes, including a sculptural Chanel Resort 2027 look that felt almost architectural in its interpretation of classical dress.
Others, including Charlize Theron, opted for unapologetic glamour.
At one after-party, she wore a custom red Givenchy design by Sarah Burton, elevated by dramatic leather opera gloves that brought a sense of regal extravagance.
The styling also mirrored her earlier all-black daytime ensemble, which was paired with striking white leather opera gloves.

Mia Goth embraced the same Grecian mood but with a softer, more whimsical approach.
Her Dior Resort 2027 gown was understated in both colour and construction, allowing its refined silhouette to take centre stage.
The standout detail was a vivid blue floral applique at the hip, adding a touch of storybook romance and lending the otherwise minimalist look an enchanting sense of fantasy.
The film’s leading men have also delivered a compelling case for modern tailoring.
Rather than relying on conventional black-tie formulas, they have embraced suits with distinctive detailing and contemporary flair.
Tom Holland, for instance, wore a luxurious double- breasted tuxedo by Savile Row tailor Gieves & Hawkes, complete with pinstripes formed from Morse code spelling out The Odyssey alongside the house’s “G&H” initials.
If the film promises epic storytelling, its press tour has already succeeded in delivering an equally memorable fashion spectacle.
