As the Official Timekeeper of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, Omega has long been committed to ensuring the exceptional efforts of athletes around the world are honoured.

In keeping with this tradition, Omega Malaysia hosted an exclusive, private dinner at The Pavilion in The RuMa Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, to celebrate Malaysia’s top sportsmen and sportswomen.

Olympians and Paralympians from various disciplines were in attendance, sharing their journeys and experiences from the world’s greatest sporting event, Paris 2024.

This brought together athletes who have dedicated their lives to representing Malaysia on the global stage, recognising not only their past accomplishments, but also their resilience and determination.

The dinner served to celebrate the spirit of competition, perseverance and dedication that these athletes embodied.

Among the distinguished guests were Malaysian Paralympic Council president Datuk Seri Megat D. Shahriman Zaharuddin, Kuala Lumpur Para Athletics Association president Datuk Subramaniam Raman Nair, Datuk Nicol Ann David who was deputy chef de mission for Paris 2024, and the numerous Olympians and Paralympians.

As the timekeeper of the Olympic Games for over 90 years, Omega has been part of countless unforgettable moments in sports history and is proud to celebrate these Malaysian heroes.

“We are honoured to host this dinner in recognition of Malaysia’s Olympians and Paralympians. The determination and pursuit of excellence that they embody truly echo Omega’s core values of precision and performance, constantly pushing the boundaries of what is possible,” said Omega Malaysia vice-president Martin Issing.

A dedicated display featuring Omega’s lineup of Paris 2024 Olympic timepieces, including the Speedmaster Chronoscope Paris 2024, Seamaster Diver 300M Paris 2024, Specialities Paris 2024 Bronze Gold Edition and the Seamaster Olympic Games Collection were the evening’s highlight.

Each timepiece incorporated design elements inspired by the Olympic and Paralympic Games, symbolising the brand’s commitment to precision and its historic role as the Official Timekeeper.

The dinner served as part of Omega’s ongoing efforts to support and celebrate sporting excellence, as well as inspire future generations of Malaysian athletes.

Golf clinic for junior players

In accord with Omega sporting spirit, an exclusive Junior Golf Clinic led by six-time LPGA winner and Omega ambassador Céline Boutier was held for aspiring golfers at the Saujana Golf & Country Club in Selangor.

The junior players had the unique opportunity to develop their skills in a professional setting, thanks to coaching from one of the sport’s top athletes.

They also gained invaluable insights into the discipline and dedication required to excel in golf.

The golf clinic focused on three key areas of the game: pitching, chipping and putting.

Each skill session was designed to introduce the junior golfers to the fundamentals of the sport, with hands-on guidance from Boutier and a team of seasoned golf professionals.

From the precision of a well-placed chip to the finesse of a controlled putt, participants learned about fine-tuning their golf skills with patience and attention to detail.

Following the clinic, Issing hosted a luncheon at Charcoal Restaurant for the young golfers, their families and special guests after the session on the course.

Attendees had a chance to connect and reflect on the memorable experiences of the day, and learn more about Omega’s involvement with the world of golf.

Guests were also given a chance to view and have a hands-on experience with Omega’s latest range as well as several iconic watches in the brand.

During a conversation on stage, Boutier shared with the young participants her journey to success, touching on the highs and challenges of her career on the LPGA Tour.

“Golf is really a game of patience and resilience,” she said.

The Junior Golf Clinic exemplifies Omega’s commitment to supporting the next generation in golf and nurturing a love for the game.

Through events like these, young players not only enhance their technical skills but also gain a sense of sportsmanship and the confidence to pursue their dreams, said Omega.
