StarChrono turns one: A word from the editor

StarChrono debuted on April 8, 2023

StarChrono is one year old! Our first issue debuted on April 8, 2023, featuring on our inaugural cover the legendary Jean-Claude Biver who dropped in to KL before the official launch of his eponymous watch brand.

We have followed that up every month thereafter with multiple personalities to watch in relation to significant industry events, among whom were Ryan Gosling in TAG Heuer’s short film -- the world’s first of its kind, and South Korean star Ji Chang-wook who was appointed Rado ambassador.

We also spotlighted women in the industry, namely retailer Crystal Time Sdn Bhd senior brand manager Pamela Tan and her mother Jennifer who is also involved in the family business that spans three generations.

In the past 12 months, we have also been your link to watch events including major ones like the Asia-Pacific launch of Mido’s Multifort TV Big Date where StarChrono had a front-row view at the grand affair in Bangkok, and the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève’s pre-award travelling exhibition with Kuala Lumpur being the only Southeast Asian venue.

And we will continue to bring you the important news and happenings as well as highlight the faces of the brands and the people working behind the scenes.

In this issue, we speak to Parmigiani Fleurier CEO Guido Terreni about what’s ahead for the brand, and we look at the good work of non-profit Orbis International which received a boost from Omega.

As for launches, we spotlight a French brand besides giving a peek at the boutiques that have recently opened up in our capital city and Milan.
