Stroke of jean-ius? Denim continues to be reinvented in various fashionable ways

Arguably the most ubiquitous clothing item, jeans can be found hanging or folded in almost everyone’s closet.

After all, who can say no to denim? Its comfort, versatility and cool factor make it a top choice among many.

It is definitely fashion’s darling and loved by everyone from all walks of life.

While it remains a perennial classic, this season sees a surge in the denim trend, with several labels introducing their own styles, ranging from ready-to-wear to even denim bags.

From Sacoor Blue’s Summer 2023 collection comes pieces inspired by a “country club” aesthetic.

The preppy and sport-inspired looks are designed for comfort during outdoor activities.

The easy-to-mix-and-match pieces include sweatshirts, shirts, T-shirts, shorts and of course, jeans with a matching denim blazer.

Miu Miu too has a selection of denim garments in its Spring/Summer 2023 range, which includes jeans, blazers and long jackets in shades like beige and black.

They are given the washed treatment for that worn-out look – a perfect balance between contemporary fashion and vintage allure.

When it comes to designers who love their denim, Ralph Lauren wins hands down. He always wears his shirt and jeans when taking the traditional designer’s bow at the end of his runway shows.

Why, the iconic American designer is also known for pairing his tuxedo jacket with boot-cut jeans!

For his Pre-Fall 2023, Lauren presents a variety of denim delights including blazers with large pockets and sharp lapels, shirts, tattered jeans and dungarees. The latter two are particularly interesting.

The frayed jeans showcase the art of intentional distressing, with a shabby aesthetic that exudes a certain coolness, while the dungarees capture the elusive essence of country chic that’s likely to turn heads and set new trends.

Bottega Veneta is not left behind in the denim fad, where its jeans for men and women come in a 70s-inspired cut that’s funky yet contemporary.

Dior too unleashes a pair of baggy jeans that ooze a youthful, street-style vibe, defying all expectations from the venerable French maison.

Just recently, Versace released a series of styles featuring the Versace Allover – a multi-logo jacquard based on the Versace logo of the 1990s. Part of the collection includes laser-print denim pants with a matching tote bag.

And, within the Italian label’s Spring/Summer 2023 range, you’ll find loose-fitting jeans with diamond-cut shreds, showcasing a level of originality unlike any other.

If that is not enough, the jeans come in striking shades beyond the usual blue such as purple or pink, making them true standouts in any crowd. These are what denim dreams are made of.
