Marking two decades in luxury watchmaking, Malaysia’s luxury watch retailer, Swiss Watch, has brought back the Art Of Time exhibition to Pavilion Kuala Lumpur.

Themed "Defining Moment", the highly anticipated event (running until Oct 23) is headlined by 18 watchmakers and features a unique partnership with five leading Malaysian talents.

In its eighth edition, it is said to be the most extensive and immersive showcase of some of the world’s finest timepieces.

Art Of TIme 2022 features eight historical maisons – Arnold & Son, Bell & Ross, Breitling, Bulgari, IWC Schaffhausen, Panerai, Longines and Tudor; six independent watchmakers – Bovet, Bianchet, Charles Girardier, Jaquet Droz, Raidillon and Speake-Marin; and four accessible luxury brands – Bremont, Maurice Lacroix, Oris and Tissot.

All horology masters in their own right, the 18 watchmakers will showcase their expertise through their display of special editions and novelties.

Additionally, Bell & Ross, Breitling, Maurice Lacroix and Panerai is each unveiling a limited-edition timepiece exclusively for Swiss Watch at the exhibition.

Art Of Time 2022 will take over the sprawling concourse of Pavilion KL, converting the 368 sq m space into a sophisticated, avant-garde watch playground. The booths this year are modular in design, complemented with clean, contemporary lines.

A three-metre hexagonal arch will welcome watch enthusiasts into a space that will be carved out to provide an experience befitting each watch category.

The Grand Circle of Calibre will house eight design-driven booths of the heritage maisons, which will then lead seamlessly into an enclave comprising The Gateway and The Pod where the accessible luxury brands and independent watchmakers will stand proudly showcasing their creations.

“Our in-house project team has worked meticulously to ensure that the space is harmoniously designed to celebrate the shared values of the watch brands,” says Ashvin Valiram, executive director of Valiram, which owns and operates Swiss Watch.

“Swiss Watch represents myriad brands and historically Art Of Time has been an exhibition reserved for the most prestigious watch manufacturers. This year, we are welcoming brands from three distinct categories – the historical prestige maisons, the independent watchmakers and the young and accessible luxury brands.

“It is an opportunity for Swiss Watch and all the 18 brands to get together under one roof and celebrate the shared values of passion and dynamism, creativity, savoir faire and innovation. This is indeed a milestone for us.”

Embodying that same passion and dynamism are the five Malaysians personalities, each one with their own defining moment, who have partnered with Swiss Watch this year.

The five comprise national pride and joy Datuk Nicol David; actress and style icon Scha Alyahya; artist and architectural designer Red Hong Yi; graffiti artist and illustrator Cloakwork; and break-dancer Kid Inn.

“Time is such a precious element in our lives, and we are constantly challenged to make the best of it. So much so that we sometimes miss out on celebrating the small moments in between that define our journey in life," Ashvin comments.

“As we celebrate Swiss Watch’s coming of age this year, we are proud and privileged to take a trip down memory lane with these Malaysian talents who have made their mark regionally and globally in their chosen careers. We hope that their 'Defining Moments' stories inspire you.”
