An exclusive collection of NFTs was created to immortalise the ultimate tribute to Alber Elbaz at the close of Paris Fashion Week this month.

Taking the form of a digital look, inspired by the work of the renown designer, 1,200 NFTs were created in collaboration with the specialised platform Arianee.

Fashion's finest gathered in Paris to pay their last respects to Alber Elbaz, who died from Covid-19 in April.

No less than 40 designers – including Jean-Paul Gaultier, Maria Grazia Chiuri, Thebe Magugu, and Olivier Rousteing – designed looks for the spectacular collaborative show, titled "Love Brings Love".

Meanwhile, AZ Factory, the brand founded by Alber Elbaz in January, decided to keep this vibrant tribute alive through a series of NFTs, creating a lasting memory of this emotional moment.

The collection presented at this spectacular fashion show consisted of 45 looks created by as many internationally renowned designers, 25 looks designed by the AZ Factory studio, and a very special look, offered in digital format only, in the form of an NFT.

This is by no means a first – others in the fashion industry have dabbled in NFTs in recent months, but here, the NFTs will help give this ceremony – this last goodbye – an enduring place in history.

Laurent Malecaze, the CEO of AZ Factory noted that as Alber was passionate about new technologies and at the forefront of them, the company wanted to pay tribute to him with an exclusive NFT collection, a fitting and unique way to keep a memory of him.

Designed in close collaboration with Arianee, the look is adorned with flower brooches, pumps, and costume jewellery, styled around a draped white shirt-dress.

In total, 1,200 NFTs will commemorate this Alber Elbaz tribute show.

While these were only accessible via a QR code given to guests attending this collaborative show, they are also visible on the OpenSea marketplace – under the name "AZ Factory – Alber Elbaz Tribute Look" – where it is possible to make offers and maybe even get your hands on one of these (almost) unique NFTs.

Some of the NFTs are in series of just 1, some in series of 100.

After disrupting the world of visual arts, NFTs are taking the fashion world by storm. Houses such as Gucci, Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana and even Karl Lagerfeld have experimented with these non-fungible tokens in different forms, from film to haute couture creation to figurines. – AFP Relaxnews
