Jean Paul Gaultier held his last haute couture runway show earlier this year on January 22, after a career spanning 50 years. The show was not only a display of emotion but also a gigantic party.
It showcased a host of special guests, friends, models and muses who were delighted to take part in this spectacular event and pay tribute to the great French couturier.
The 67-year-old flamboyant creator stunned fans when he announced that the haute couture show in the French capital would be his last. It proved to be an emotional runway show, for the guests, as well as models and members of the media.
Gaultier however said that it was not a sad occasion. He saw it as a happy moment and a very big celebration.
"Well, it's one big party, like a birthday... the cake must be huge! The cake was huge I must say! I'm not hungry anymore, it's great," said Gaultier in a backstage interview.
"What a joy! I'm very moved, but at the same time, I'm very happy. It was all these people, all this happiness, everyone was so nice and lovely with me so it's wonderful to feel that! Thank you."
