The Good Project

Happening this Sunday (Dec 21) at Hin Bus Depot in Georgetown, Penang, The Good Project is a platform that brings together local F&B community and producers to create meaningful collaboration while giving back to the community.

Among the events are a local farmer’s market, workshops, and special menus and cocktails by the participating restaurants and bars, all in support of the local community centre, House Of Hope.

Angostura Charity calendar

The House of Angostura recently unveils the Angostura Charity Calendar 2026, a collaborative project initiated by spirits distributors Single & Available, which unites some of Malaysia’s most outstanding bars and bartenders to support PAWS (PAWS Animal Welfare Society) Malaysia and its mission to give rescued animals a second chance at life.

Also introduced alongside the calendar is the Angostura® 200th Anniversary Bitters, a limited-edition expression celebrating two centuries of heritage and craftsmanship.

The calendar features 13 bartenders and industry partners photographed alongside adorable rescued cats and dogs currently waiting for adoption at PAWS.

This year’s calendar proudly features talent from: Bar Mizukami, Pahit, Concubine, Bar None, Frank’s Bar, Up & Away, Rhubarb & Roses, JaoTim, The Riff District, Pickle Bar, Two Pour One, La Casa Del Habano, and Piccola.

The Angostura 2026 Charity Calendar is available at all participating bars, as well as at Single & Available’s retail outlet at Bangsar Shopping Centre, while stocks last.

With a donation of RM80, supporters will receive the charity calendar, which comes with 26 exclusive vouchers, two for each month from December 2025 to December 2026.

All proceeds go directly to PAWS Malaysia, helping provide food, shelter, medical care, and the opportunity for rescued animals to find their forever homes.

A Race well-run

Ngie Kok Kiong from Frank’s Bar KL was recently crowned the Malaysian champion for Woodford Reserve’s ‘The Wonderful Race 2025’.

Ngie (pic) got ‘Gingerbread Cookies’ as his mystery ingredient in the Top 5 round, and his cocktail, ‘The Spice That Remembered’, was inspired by a familiar December memory.

For his effort, Ngie won an exclusive journey to the Woodford Reserve Distillery in Versailles, Kentucky, and will also represent Malaysia in The Woodford Reserve Wonderful Race Asia Final competition 2026.
