“Where does he get those wonderful toys?”
When Jack Nicholson’s Joker said that when he saw the jaw-dropping Batwing in Tim Burton’s 1989 Batman movie, that same thought also went through millions of Batman fans’ minds.
Well, now you can get your hands on an actual toy replica of that exact Batwing. Well, a Lego replica to be exact, so you can actually get to build it yourself.
Yes, Lego has just released a 2,363-piece 1989 Batwing set, arguably one of its most impressive pop culture-related sets yet.
Measuring an impressive 22cm wide, 52cm long and 11cm tall, this 2,363-piece set features a removable canopy, poseable aerodynamic flaps, and even a special brick which allows builders to mount and display their model on the wall.
The set also comes with three minifigures (Batman, The Joker, and a Boombox goon), and is dotted with Easter eggs, such as a screen featuring The Joker’s gas balloons and a ‘Bat Engine’ label on the vehicle’s engine.
The Batwing is the latest set to feature a vehicle from Burton’s iconic movie, following the 1989 Batmobile set, which was released previously. It is currently available certified at Lego stores and Legoland.
